A brilliant video by one of our lovely clients, sharing his expert advice on making money where you spend it! We’ve had a lot of similar feedback from our clients, not just those who financially invest in their provider but also people whose accounts we have analysed and found ways of saving them money. How to Make $10000 Changing Phone Companies <br /> The most popular response we get with our clients when it comes to the financial difference in their service with us is excitement at what we save them. For example, I was able to save one of my clients $350 per month on her expenses, which meant an extra $4500 per year in profit and a holiday for her family! So whichever approach you take, keep an eye on where you’re spending and how you can profit from making a few changes, and ask an expert – that’s what we’re here for!

Like many of my business clients I’m sure you’re often given business cards and realise how frustrating they can be. Not only are they easily lost and annoying to carry around (I once had a client with a whole drawerful!), they need to be reprinted every time you update your details, and if people are still in the possession of old business cards you can be sure of confusion arising when the time comes to get in touch. That’s why many of us are switching to vCards, as they’re electronic, can be updated as often as you like, and contain as few or as many details as suits you. You can easily share them via email, MMS, or mobile applications like Bump. What are vCards? Vcards are like the old address cards you’d have in a rotary contact directory; they’re a digital record of a name, number, address and any other details necessary for contact management. In fact, you’re probably already using them without even realising it! If you’re using a smartphone it’s probably using a vCard system for storing your contacts, likewise a contact directory on your computer usually does the same thing. You also enjoy the benefit of [...]

Most of our mobile phones work great for the full term of the contract, but just in case they don’t we always make sure to provide you with a warranty. Insurance claims are also a good way to protect your phone, but it’s important to know the difference between the two, and how to go about making a claim if you ever need to. Where Do I Start? For nearly all claims you’ll need your Tax Invoice. This is your delivery docket or receipt. If you have lost your delivery docket call customer service on 133 343 to get a replacement sent out, or if it’s a receipt from a store you’ll need to get in touch with the store to get a copy. Warranty Claims Your Optus warranty is free with your mobile and lasts the full 24 months of your contract, which is double the manufacturer’s standard warranty. It covers manufacturing faults only; so if the phone breaks down, doesn’t work properly, or has continuous software problems you can make a warranty claim at no cost to you. Your warranty does not cover loss, theft, liquid or physical damage, or user error. Claims process: Take your Tax Invoice [...]

Your email address makes an important statement about yourself and your business. Did you know that the minute you quote a potential client your email address, they are making assumptions about your level of professionalism and competence based on that email address? What Are They Thinking? A survey of 700,000 people (“what your email domain says about you”) shows the patterns that emerge when looking at groups of email addresses, and looking at the comments on any article relating to the subject will show you just how harshly your email is being judged! “Free webmail, ISP accounts and work email addresses might serve benefits to the average user, but as a business owner, they will do nothing but limit your potential. By owning your email address you can distance yourself entirely from a third-party company and have more authority over the fate of your business.” eGigabyte.com I’m astonished to see how many of my clients are tied to old-fashioned ISP email accounts – many of whom end up losing thousands simply because they’re with an expensive provider, and cannot switch just because of their dependance upon that email address! To clarify, an ISP email account would be one [...]

Something that often causes a lot of confusion with my customers is the difference between fixed and mobile broadband, especially as technically both can be called “wireless” for different reasons. Basically there are two different kinds of broadband – mobile and fixed. Mobile Broadband Mobile broadband connects to the internet using a SIM card (just like the one in your mobile phone) and uses the mobile phone towers to pick up a signal. In this way information is sent to your computer. The SIM card is usually in a small USB modem, but can also be placed in a larger Wi-Fi modem to boost a wireless signal out to surrounding devices so that more than one user can be connected. Fixed Broadband Fixed broadband travels through your landline just like a regular telephone service. Once it reaches your modem you can either plug the computer directly into the modem, or you may have a Wifi modem router to boost the signal out to one or more devices; a lot like when you have a cordless phone with a base station. Benefits and Limitations Mobile broadband can be taken out and about and just like your mobile phone it will work [...]

I can’t tell you how many phones I’ve seen die before their time! When you have a two-year contract on that handset it’s definitely in your best interest to take good care of it. Just like with your car, a little care and maintenance goes a long way. Follow these few simple steps to make sure you get the most out of that shiny new phone! 1) Read The Manual I can’t stress this enough! I know it’s boring and you probably already know some of it, but reading the manual is very important because it tells you how to set up your phone, how it works, and how to take care of it. All phones are not created equal, and even a phone that seems very similar to the one you were previously using will have some major differences that you’ll only know about if you read the manual. A real positive here is that you’ll probably discover some great new feature you didn’t know about! 2) Protect The Hardware If your phone didn’t come with a case (most of them don’t,) either pop into a store or order one on eBay. This makes a huge difference if you [...]
